Wisdom in My Feet

Colleen Little is a Canadian-born emerging multimedia artist and arts educator, currently working and residing on Yugara land in Meanjin/Brisbane. She holds both a Bachelor of Studio Arts degree, with distinction (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts Education degree (2009). Little Reality, a term Colleen uses to refer to her art practice, centres around consciously noticing relationships between self, others, and place.

This acrylic painting references a relationship with self and listening to one's body. Focusing on the profound wisdom held within my feet, when I feel a fading connection to the ground, it is an immediate signal that something is off-balance. My process is driven by listening to these physical cues, using art to reclaim presence and anchor myself back to the earth.
