Volunteer as an Event Assistant at the 2026 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition! 

Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ) is a leading provider of mental health services throughout Queensland, and the ACT. RFQ has worked within the community for more than 50 years – inspiring hope, empowerment and self-belief in people facing mental health challenges and social disadvantage.

The Recovered Futures Art Exhibition is held annually during Queensland Mental Health Week, showcasing work from artists with lived experience of mental health challenges. The iconic exhibition is now in its 35th year, serving to spark meaningful conversations while sharing powerful stories through diverse art. 

In 2026 the exhibition will return to our grand marquee in King George Square, free and open to the public from Friday 9 to Wednesday 14 October. We are looking for volunteers to help make our exhibition a success, with roles including greeter, catalogue sales, payments assistant, and badge making.

All volunteers will be provided with lunch and a volunteer pack including water bottle (there is a water fountain on site for use, hat, shirt and a snack.

In your application, please provide your availability for the week (ensuring you are available for at least one full day).

Shifts available:

Friday 9 October: 8.30am – 6pm

Saturday 10 October: 9.30am – 4pm

Sunday 11 October: 9.30am – 4pm

Monday 12 October: 8.30am – 5pm

Tuesday 13 October: 8.30am – 5pm

Wednesday 14 October: 8.30am – 5pm

Requirements

·         Aged 18+

·         In possession of a police check no less than three months old, or provide consent for RFQ   to request a police check on your behalf

·         Comfortable on your feet for an extended period of time

·         Comfortable wearing Recovered Futures exhibition t-shirt and lanyard

·         Comfortable interacting with members of the public and working as part of a team.

All training provided on the day, with information provided earlier via email. No experience required.

Reimbursement

Lunch and a volunteer pack including water bottle, hat, shirt and a snack.
