Where Forms Gather

Delma is a professional Brisbane-based artist who studied for many years at the Brisbane College of Art. Now creating in her own studio, Delma's art is abstract and intuitive; derived partly from memory and partly from imagination. Her art has been exhibited in London, Italy, USA and as far afield as Iceland. Collectors of Delma's work say they are attracted to her use of colour, movement, and abstraction, as well as the various shapes and marks she favours.

I created a lively abstract landscape in cool blues and lush greens where floating ovals, rings, and clustered dots drift like tide pools and seeds. These shapes suggest water meeting land, as forms gather and disperse. Rather than depict a single scene, I aimed to collect moments - a composition of ripples; a pale blue river or inlet; a wide sky band. Rings and seed-like marks that suggest plants, stones, and scattered organisms drift across the landscape. I invite you, the viewer, to step inside this world.
