When They Come To Bite

Katana Dirk (Kat) is a Brisbane-based artist and animator originally from the UK. Painting with acrylic and watercolor, she enjoys depicting mysterious and wild subjects often reflecting nature, death, and power. Kat finds making art to be a place for pause, focus, and breath. It's way to help quell big feelings and still the vibrating anxiety which has been a mainstay in her life since the sudden death of her brother during her teen years.

Throughout her years of practice, Kat has found painting to be a safe way to be vulnerable. It is a way to hold her inner child and tell her she is safe, and together they can handle anything.

I couldn't stop thinking about this lyric; the way it talks about your past experiences and how they can shape you. What you bring forth from your experiences depends on so many things; life is everything good and everything bad too. But what a sweet hope to think that one day your demons will treat you gently.
