Jay is a Brisbane-born artist whose work is fuelled by nature, emotion, and imagination.  Inspired by the ocean, patterns, and the shifting intensity of living with bipolar 1, she creates bold abstract pieces filled with movement, colour, and energy.  Jay's art captures both chaos and calm - reflecting manic highs, crashing waves, and moments of peace found in nature. Her work invites people to feel something deeply; whether that's connection, nostalgia, freedom, or simply the joy of getting lost in colour and motion.

My inspiration comes from nature and reflects my mood at the time. 'The Great Barrier Reef' was created during a manic phase of my bipolar disorder, where colour, movement, and energy feel endless and intense. Painting the vibrant fish allowed me to channel this energy with purpose and ultimately find calm. The fish symbolise vulnerability and resilience, reminding me how small we can feel in a world much bigger than ourselves.
