As a third-generation painter, JzyArtz has always found inspiration in regional and rural landscapes of Queensland and New South Wales.
Watching scenery pass by a car window on road trips to family events, she always felt frustrated she was unable to capture the beauty of the landscapes that unfolded.
The big sky and wide-open spaces that feel so impossible when in the CBD surrounded by people and buildings on all sides.
In her work she hopes to capture a little of that feeling of space.

This piece was conceived on the idea of Spooky Outback.
That feeling you have when closing the gate at night, with no one else around; the creak and groan as it swings, the echo of the metal chain clinking into place across the kilometres of empty crisp air and the crunch of the gravel underfoot.
