Stay

Alison is primarily a printmaker and ink artist, exploring reality and the way we express it through narrative-based artworks. 

In 2016, while studying a Masters of Art in Visual Art (focusing on digitally based self-referential imagery within online world game spaces), Alison was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive personality disorder, anxiety, depressive episodes, and obsessive perfectionism.

After completing her studies, these diagnoses and subsequent treatment led Alison's art practice in an introspective direction, culminating in a solo exhibition examining the mental struggle mindscape. To this day, she is still examining stories of the mental mindscape through narrative artworks, while running a busy gallery on Brisbane's northside.

Sometimes living is hard and some moments can seem never-ending. But this girl is my reminder of the moments a decision was made to stay. Those moments I wanted other people to stay with me; those moments I needed to remind myself to stay; those moments other people reminded me why I needed to stay; and those moments I needed to remind other people to stay. 

No matter what your moment, right now...stay.
