Nina Hurr is an artist based in Byron Bay. Their style is colourful, playful and full of positive messages. Their artworks include drawings on recycled surfboards, framed pieces and digital illustrations.

Nina lives with schizoaffective disorder and their experiences with this help shape the random and sometimes chaotic ideas in their art.

They were a passionate artist as a child, but rediscovered art while in hospital as a tool for expressing feelings and thoughts. Nina has been part of many art projects across the Northern Rivers region. They have completed a number of commission pieces for local community groups and fundraisers.

They believe that everyone should have hope for their future and their art aims to remind us to have fun.

As the moon rises, the butterfly watches on while the whale flies its kite in the rain by the power lines. The umbrella keeps the skating cheetah dry, as he listens to the gentle ukulele. The whale poo makes great compost, so the wheelbarrow delivers it to the flowers and the pumpkin, as they sit by the campfire shooting targets. The snake spits laser beams as it takes an incoming phone call.
