Shedding Tree No. 3

John is a Brisbane-based photographic artist who enjoys capturing urban subjects. He explores his fascination with trees and water - which he sees as the basis of all life - through his work by playing with colours, angles, and various in-camera blurring techniques. 

John is autistic and lives with depression and social anxiety. His photographic artwork is his emotional response to his surroundings, which he taps into both at the time of capture and when he completes his artworks using software.

Most days, I take a walk along the creek near where I live. Over time, I have noticed that the trees peel their bark during spring and summer. My interest in the patterns created by the peeling bark formed the basis for my 'Shedding' series, of which this artwork is #3.
