AJ Gogas is a Queensland based artist and educator engaging dynamically at the intersection between art and experience.
Her expression adapts art-based practices into radical new motions. Harnessing lived experience, shifting through transition into visibility. The vibrant fluidity of movement and expansion offers a space for inclusion, vulnerability, and exploration.
Her somatic practice empowers integrity, flow and holding importance to attending our nervous system. A space that honours creation without fixation on outcome. Diving deeply into rhythm her practice is diverse. AJ draws upon potent personal experience with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and living with a disability.
Integration through expression offers support and tangibility to an emotive and ineffable light. AJ's practice negotiates and validates creation with the purpose of healing and empowerment.

'Pulp' calls you inward, amidst the haze. A deep longing weighted in the marrows of gravity. This piece is an expression capturing the heaviness of grief. Leaning into the anguish of grieving the vessel that holds you. The grief of living with limitations. Pulp gives permission to carry all you enclose. A silent pause honouring the clearing of sensation.
