Born in Canberra, Jacqueline Ripoll has always been a creative who struggled with her mental health. Growing up, Jacqueline, like most young teens in her generation, was force-fed images of the 'ideal body'. A reflection of her past is seen within her current works, which push hard against these damaging ideals.
Since moving to Brisbane/Meanjin in 2019, she has dedicated herself to a creative career and opening a discussion about body image and identity.

The decriminalisation of sexuality and self-love is something that I strive to achieve with my works. This piece was inspired by a close friend who embodies that. We're working to undo generations of taught self-loathing behaviours around women's bodies and sexuality.
