John is a Brisbane/Meanjin based photographic artist who lives with depression and social anxiety. In his early fifties he found that he had complex trauma and has recently discovered he is neurodivergent.
Due to his neurodivergence, he approaches photography in his own way after discovering what is now known by some as photographic expressionism.
Through this expressionism, he has a found a joy which was previously undiscovered. It has allowed him to play and be truly creative which he found difficult within the restraints of more traditional methods.

Orange Poles is purely about colour and patterns. I feel this artwork is photographic expressionism at its best where each viewer has their own emotional response to the artwork.
