Jay, a Brisbane/Meanjin-based artist has been finding joy and a sense of escape in her creative expression since the tender age of two (2).
Deeply rooted in abstract expressionism, Jay channels her emotions and experiences with bipolar disorder into raw, heartfelt canvases. Each piece serves as a window into her soul, using mixed media and acrylics to capture the fluctuations in her mental state.
Jay's art is not just a visual journey but a call for mental health awareness, inviting collectors to follow her journey on social media.

This year has been one full of turmoil and mixed episodes with my bipolar 1. Whenever I feel a mix of mania, anxiety and overwhelm, I find solace in becoming one with the ocean. Painting ocean barrels is both calming and exhilarating and gets out a lot of raw energy using my splattering technique. With each stroke of the palette knife I become calmer and at one with the ocean.
