Danny enjoys the quietness of art. It gives him a quiet, calm and peaceful mind. Getting away from the havoc of life. For Danny painting is a great way to relax. Danny also enjoys the surprises that occur, when two lines meet and make a picture and the way sometimes unexpected shapes emerge from the brush strokes guiding the direction of the artwork.
The Goanna is part of my tribe on my Mum's side of the family. The colours for this artwork came to me in a dream. I dreamt I was sitting on a rock wall by a river. On one side a group of black women were fishing and wearing these colours, behind me, the city, skyscrapers and smoke. I kept turning back and forth like I was caught between two worlds. When I woke up, I was inspired to paint this.
