Leafy Seadragon

Christopher Harding is a Brisbane-based artist and carer whose creative practice helps him navigate the emotional needs of supporting others, while balancing work and daily life. He works across sculpture, watercolour painting, digital drawing, and wood carving, recently exploring fibre-reinforced cement in sculpture for its strength and expressive possibilities.
Painting with watercolour, especially within his social art group, offers Christopher connection and an outlet for stress. Through constant creation and experimentation, Christopher's work reflects curiosity and the patience required to care for others while nurturing his own creative voice.

I am a leafy seadragon, delicate and slow, trying to navigate dangerous seas. I drift along using my camouflage to blend in because I don't want anyone to see that I am struggling. I drift along rather than confront life head on. It takes all my will to stay afloat and cope with the world around me, while seeking calmer seas. My journey is slow but it allows me to find moments of peace within my internal storms.
