Layers of Meaning
Annie is a Brisbane woman with a disability who studies Visual Arts and enjoys art therapy. She works across several modalities, with ceramics and printmaking being her most prominent.
This work represents a deeply considered process of thought and memory. It focuses on the concept that remembering is a recursive experience of bringing to life an experience and allowing it to become malleable, so it can be re-framed, and layers of meaning can be added to it. The artwork itself was created by applying layers, sanding back, and adding details.
