Artworks are first available for purchase by sponsors and dignitaries before being available in person at the Exhibition in Brisbane. Unsold artworks can also be purchased online following the event.
"Joy is two things to me: one of my favourite nieces, and a deep, tangible state of being in the world. My artwork depicts creatures agreeing together to praise and be joyful in a world that is too often bleak, heavy and focused on our own individual pains. Joy is a uniting force of good despite our circumstances."
Alana Sawrey is a clinical art therapist who also loves art for her own enjoyment and expression. She finds the process of sitting with ideas and then communicating them so cathartic (and necessary even) for maintaining her own good mental health.
After years of hard work, Alana is living the life she’s always wanted – all the while coexisting with anxiety that has threatened to swallow her whole at various points in time.
Alana loves working with people to uncover things hidden and unexpressed, and to bring light to dark places through creative intervention.
