As a toddler, Frilly began painting watercolour on the flowers in her grandmother's garden. She found all the white ones boring, but her grandmother disagreed and hosed the paint off. Still, the memory stuck.

Though she had always dreamed of being an artist, Frilly's life took many turns, allowing her to grasp lots of different skills. Frilly's experience in her grandmother's garden revisited her in later life, as she chose to hybridise daylilies, therefore succeeding in creating her own flower colours in the end. She then took up photography to capture the new hybrid flowers, before finally picking up a paintbrush to keep these blooms in paint.

Nowadays, Frilly paints a diverse range of subjects in different mediums, all the while owning and operating a picture framing shop and boutique gallery in Brisbane. As a person with ADHD, Frilly feels quite comfortable wearing many hats.

The NSW bushfires a few years ago were so devastating to humans and animals. Thank goodness for wildlife carers that went above and beyond to rescue our animals, although many perished - too many.

This painting depicts the fear this mother koala was experiencing after being rescued with her baby. She was hanging on so tight and wouldn't let go. The mother and baby recovered and were released, but I bet the trauma is still with her - as it is with all of us.
