Golden Holden
Art became Yvonne's lifeline during recovery from a major stroke in 2020; an essential part of her healing and a way to rebuild, reflect, and rediscover herself. What began as a coping process has grown into a deeply personal practice, helping her piece together what was lost and embrace who she is now.
Inspired by emotion, resilience, and lived experience, Yvonne’s work explores themes of healing, hope, and transformation. Through colour, figurative forms, and elements of nature, she aims to encourage mental and emotional wellbeing. Yvonne's art invites reflection and promotes a sense of calm, strength, and optimism - encouraging viewers to find beauty in struggle and possibility in change, growth, and renewal.

At the intersection of strength and softness, the tough old Holden ute - an icon of steel and survival - represents the grit needed to travel life’s long road. Delicate jacaranda petals settle across the ute, hinting at quiet renewal and the kind of luck that arrives unannounced; often when we need it most. This piece reminds us that true resilience isn’t just about standing firm, but allowing simple beauty to reach us - an enduring Australian spirit, grounded, and built to stand the test of time.
