Fractured Phrases

Grace Keogh is a mixed-media artist whose work explores memory, language, and emotional experience through layered collage and found materials. Working with vintage books, ephemera, photographs, and fabric, she transforms fragments of the past into expressive artworks that invite reflection and interpretation.
 
Grace's practice is deeply shaped by over 20 years of living with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder, which she sees as both a challenge and a catalyst for creativity. Through her art, she interprets complex emotions and gives visual form to experiences that are often difficult to put into words.

'Fractured Phrases' reflects the ongoing process of disassembling, reimagining, and reclaiming meaning. Through this work, I reinterpret found text as a way of voicing the random, fleeting thoughts that drift through my mind. These scrolls hold fragments of language that are rearranged, interrupted, and reimagined. By shifting words from their original context, I invite new meanings to emerge from the ordinary and overlooked. Viewers should feel free to create their own personal interpretations of the texts.
