Robert "Bob" Maas is an artist who lives on the Sunshine Coast and has been exhibiting with Recovered Futures Art Exhibition for over 25 years. He was born in 1965 in Cobar, New South Wales. Bob paints in oils and pastels and finds great joy in studying and bringing trees to life through his love of oils and acrylics.
He started painting at a very young age and in his early twenties, he was diagnosed with a mental health issue. Bob found art became a great strength for him and he is happiest when he is being creative. Bob is a prolific artist and has a strong drive to continue drawing and painting.

Early great Australian artists loved painting trees; I follow in their footsteps. Tree paintings give me the opportunity to use my skills in colour and particularly this painting which depicts the trees in the afternoon light.
