Chris is a well-known artist, tutor and judge in the Sunshine Coast art community, with more than 32 years' experience teaching art.
Chris' acquaintance with the Black Dog started many years ago, following his marriage breakdown. Luckily, his latent art talent came to the rescue, and Chris discovered that painting (often till late into the night) gave him inner peace and control.
Happily painting in either oil or pastel, Chris has taught in many workshops for art societies around Australia and overseas. In 2004, he was awarded Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of Australia.

Inspired by a trip to a New South Wales koi farm, I was overwhelmed by the movement and vibrancy of these beautiful and expensive creatures. I know there have been many paintings of koi, but I wanted to try and capture the facial expressions as they quickly moved around the pond. Were they laughing at me, or were they just saying, "Feed me, feed me!"
