In 'Emerging Shadows', the relationship between foreground and background serves as a visual exploration of dementia and the shifting dynamics of family care. The young cub stands in sharp focus, anchoring us in the present, while the parent figure recedes into the dark texture. This piece captures the profound grief of watching a parent’s presence slip into memory loss. It reflects on vulnerability, resilience, and the honour of holding the light for those who once guided us.
