Originally from India, Shruti Kashikar moved across the world for her husband's career. While settling into new places was often overwhelming, art became her constant anchor. To deepen her practice, Shruti completed a Visual Arts certification in 2025 at TAFE. She specialises in watercolor, drawn to its freshness and translucent quality; finding calm in capturing everyday moments and nature's beauty.

Now active in her arts community, Shruti has exhibited at Recovered Futures, the Watercolour Society, Artwest, and shows at Ipswich, Mt. Gravatt, and Brookfield, winning several awards. She also loves volunteering at local galleries, connecting with visitors, and sharing stories with fellow artists.

Three figures, drawn in flowing contour lines, sit completely absorbed in their screens. This drawing highlights the strange connection of being disconnected; a modern echo of 'see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil'. It examines the quiet tension between being constantly active online, yet deeply isolated in reality. By capturing this familiar scene, the piece invites us to pause and consider what we miss in the physical world when we are always plugged in.
