Kristy-Ann is an Australian artist with a passion for birds. More than just capturing a visual likeness, Kristy-Ann shares special moments she has spent watching birds through her art.
She portrays the beautiful places they live and their fascinating behaviours; black swans ripping green weed from the bottom of a river, pelicans preening and leaving a trail of soft feathers in the water, or grey fantails dancing amongst the trees.
Kristy-Ann creates art that is both true to the subject and her own interpretation of the mood to produce unique and vibrant works. Kristy-Ann says art is an important part of healing in her own mental health journey and hopes her art also brings joy to others.

I painted this at a time I needed peace and calm in my life, but at the same time it invokes hope and anticipation for the future. The painting has a stillness and tranquility. Yet, the pair of little Hooded Plovers look posed, ready to head off together navigating among life's obstacles represented by the rocks and weed.
