Birds at Toondah Harbour
Belinda visited art galleries from a young age with her father, where she was exposed to a variety of styles. She has since selected elements that work for her to create her own unique aesthetic; her style is bold, free, spontaneous, and colourful.
Belinda’s work reflects her love of the Australian lifestyle. Her artworks often include kookaburras and other bird life, pet dogs, and sports. Having explored many different art mediums, Belinda currently favours water-mixable oils and watercolours, depending on the surface. She is a long-standing member of the Brisbane Outsider Artists group at Access Arts.
Migratory shore birds flew from the northern hemisphere
After 7 to 11 days of non-stop flying, they arrived here
I looked at them in the distance through a telescope to see
Some of them were resting in shade underneath the tree
Enjoying the warmer months on our land
Feeding on seafood on the muddy sand
Local birds are here to stay
And it makes for a happy day.
