Becoming

Natasha is fascinated with nature, humanity and how the two interconnect. The animal allegories in her work represent various parts of her psyche and how she perceives reality, exploring our intrinsic connection to our natural surroundings.

Since winning first place in the city-wide Art award in Florence, Italy, Natasha’s work has been included in numerous prizes and exhibitions in Australia, Italy and the USA. Her work is featured as part of the Beautiful Bizarre website and she was recently awarded second prize in The Art of Imagination prize. 

Natasha’s paintings bring us to a place where realism and imagination meet, blurring the lines which often define realism. Through her work, Natasha invites the viewer into a dream-like state where intuitive meaning triumphs over physical reality.

This painting was made in a moment of great personal struggle. I felt I was staring into a void before me, trying not to fall in. But some part of me understood that a new self awaited me on the other side of this despair. There is no other way to describe how such a powerfully optimistic painting could come from such a dark moment. I was becoming something else - something greater and stronger than I'd ever been before.
