I'm Lurlene Langton Chapman, a 21-year-old proud Wakka Wakka woman. I am a self-taught artist, although art runs through my blood. I have been practicing art all my life but picked up a paint brush when I was in my early teens and fell in love with it. I like to do mix of modern and traditional art, with a range of different mediums but acrylic is my personal favourite to work with.
In this painting, I wanted to captivate the beauty of life. The life of the animals, the life of us human beings and the life of spirit. Talking spiritually, everything is alive and connected. The lines, handprints, footprints and animals that are seen in this painting, represent the energy of life forces vibrating back into the dreamtime; they are called back by the elders and spirits.
