I have recently developed a love of painting houses and villages, particularly near water. I love playing with reflections and light. Oil and cold wax are wonderful mediums for this style of project as it offers translucent light and is quicker drying than just oil. I enjoyed building this piece up - it has many layers and has changed and evolved along the way.
