Rob is a film and digital photographer with lived experience of depression and anxiety. In 2011 Rob left a high-stress profession to travel around Australia for six months. During this trip he decided to move from Perth to the eastern states and pursue a career in photography, art and writing. He has since written six (6) books and had his photographs published in magazines including Australian Geographic.
Rob's struggles with mental health continue. He lives with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mainly resulting from his previous profession. Yet Rob feels that he is now on his authentic path as a sensitive and creative person, and that has made a great difference to his life.
The way ahead can sometimes be unclear or dark and scary, but in my experience the best way through is one step at a time. If we listen to the quiet voice within us and trust our feelings, I believe the universe will look after us.
