Rob is a film and digital photographer with lived experience of depression and anxiety. In 2011 Rob left a high-stress profession to travel around Australia for six (6) months. During this trip he decided to move from Perth to the eastern states and pursue a career in photography, art and writing. He has since written six (6) books and had his photographs published in magazines including Australian Geographic.
Rob's struggles with mental health continue. He lives with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mainly resulting from his previous profession. Yet Rob feels that he is now on his authentic path as a sensitive and creative person and that has made a great difference to his life.
This film photograph was taken in an abandoned old homestead in southern Western Australia – a very atmospheric place! Our journey through life can be difficult but will also lead us to amazing moments of beauty and peace.
