During a mental health crisis in 2019, Vicki picked up a brush and began to paint the complex emotions she was experiencing. When the pressure of life's expectations felt too demanding, she found peace in the flow of creating and painting became meditation.
As Vicki continued her nursing and studying her masters, she began to question if her gift to the world could be through art instead and in 2023 she began studying Visual Art part time at TAFE and exhibiting in Brisbane/Meanjin.
Whilst she still gives to the community through nursing, the role she finds the most fulfilling is connecting to others through her art. Every piece holds a story that speaks to the soul of its true owner.

I remember meeting someone I hoped would stay in my life forever. The joyful colours reflect that bright feeling, each swoop of the brush mimicking the feeling in my stomach when they called.
Coming in closely there's the detail, the darkness, I understand there's more to them than I could see from a distance. Despite this, I still hold on to the possibilities; my hope is a dazzling display.
I feel the intricacies of hope.
