I have long been drawn to the quirkiness of the Curlew, her crazy eyes, the way she moves the silly places she decides to nest and bring up her chicks. She is also smart, she places cigarette buts in her nest to keep predators out. She has learned to adapt to humans this way. I admire her adaptability, and courage. She inspired me to do this lino cut and I had fun making her look a little 'crazy'.
