Sorcerer and Familiar

Brisbane-based artist, Serpents Sun, creates vivid, illustrative artworks of fantasy worlds in watercolour and pens. They love to bring worlds to life filled with magic and fantasy; worlds to escape the rush of modern life; worlds to escape the mundane.

Serpents Sun uses art as a form of therapy and enjoyment. Most of their works are unplanned, with feeling guiding how an artwork comes together. Having been surrounded by mental health challenges their whole life, Serpents Sun has learnt to use art to help them maintain a healthy mind.

The Sorcerer, accompanied by their flower familiar, sits bathed in the glow of mushrooms lining the cave walls. Together, they charge their cluster of mushrooms with light, preparing for an adventure deep into the caverns. Their quest: to find the last of the forest spirits, known as the Morigeist.
