Artworks are first available for purchase by sponsors and dignitaries before being available in person at the Exhibition in Brisbane. Unsold artworks can also be purchased online following the event.
"One day I would like to see the Bridge of Rialto in Venice. For this artwork, I applied the waterproof pen first, before adding the watercolour wash. I have chosen a yellow mat board to complement the sunny colours, which are bright like a day in Venice."
Michelle Byrne has been a keen artist for many years, attending an art group every second Saturday where she works on various creative projects. Traditionally favouring painting with acrylics and watercolour, Michelle is now exploring the pastel style of painting and attended a pastellist art group for a while.
Art is very much a social practice for Michelle. She has made friends with many artists in her groups, often meeting over a coffee or seeing a movie together.
