By Tegan Geange

Tegan is an artist from Logan who loves to experiment with different mediums, from street art installations and acrylic on canvas, to tea stain and ink on canvas. Being neurodivergent, art has been both cathartic and a safe harbour for Tegan, while also providing opportunities to show and sell her pieces.

At 20 years old, this will be Tegan's fourth showing at the Recovered Futures Art Exhibition. The confidence she has gained from this experience has encouraged her to create her very first solo exhibition, which will take place at the Logan Art Gallery in July 2026.

This year at Recovered Futures, Tegan is excited to share two of her favourite pieces, reflecting her connection to culture and mental health.

'Shorelines' draw on the connection to my country of heritage, New Zealand. This piece incorporates the black sand of the west coast of New Zealand, intermingled with the white sand of my country of birth, Australia. This connection to heritage and the place where I was born (the multicultural melting pot of Logan city) demonstrates the importance that connection to country plays in my mental health and wellbeing.
