Fran Melton is an artist who likes to inspire others using bright colours. She brings a fresh vibrancy and simplicity to her paintings.
As a carer for a family member, who has significant mental health issues, she understands and empathises with others struggling to cope with daily life challenges and for those loved ones supporting them.
For her, spending time alone in nature or in her studio is restorative, a form of quiet contemplation that's good for her mental health and influences her painting practice. She is grateful to be able to have the time do what she loves.

In this piece I tried to represent a woman’s inner struggle with self-doubt. Despite a past marked by regret and rejection, she has found the strength and courage to overcome the challenges she has encountered.
I have deliberately used a monochromatic palette of burnt sienna to create a strong tonal work, to emphasise her power of self-belief and perseverance.
