Jude Scott is a Brisbane/Meanjin-based visual artist who works with acrylics and textured mediums to create coastal inspired abstracts and realistic paintings in her unique style. 
 
Growing up, creating art was Jude’s sanctuary; a place she could escape feelings of overwhelm. In recent years, discovering and working through her neurodiversity has provided clarity on nuances that have caused discomfort in her life. Finding different strategies to combat this has been helpful.  
 
Her art practice continues to be a truly healing experience; a place of solace and optimism, helping pave the way to well-being.

I love to capture my feelings about a place and my connection to it through colour, form, and contrast. You can see this in the softness and fluidity of turquoise waters set against the rigidity and darkness of rocks and land. Growing up near the coast and spending many family holidays on the Gold Coast have embedded fond childhood memories in me, making the recreation of beach scenes in my paintings something very close to my heart.
