Parallel Lines

Grant is an Ipswich-based artist whose work reflects the intricate dialogue between the natural world and the urban landscapes that shape daily life. Through photography, he finds an escape from the chaos of everyday challenges, using the lens as both sanctuary and voice.

A self-taught, multi–award-winning photographer, Grant has learned to experience life with fresh insight, seeing through an artist’s eyes. Shapes, shadows, light, colour, and beauty now reveal themselves in ways he had never noticed before. Driven by a desire to capture these new perceptions and emotions, he has embraced photography as his medium of choice.

One can easily mistake perception as being limited to what meets the eye. 'Parallel Lines' blurs that reality and asks the question: "What if?", exploring what we store away in the mind. Anchored in the belief that art has the power to evoke emotion, provoke thought, and foster empathy, this work challenges the viewer to reconsider how we perceive the ordinary. It blurs the line between what is real and imagined, inviting us to find the extraordinary within the everyday.
