Observance

Based on the Gold Coast, Natasha is a mixed-media artist with an impressionistic edge and a deep love of colour. Having experienced PTSD and anxiety, she is inspired by the love of family and the belief that quiet, seemingly insignificant moments are what truly shape the beauty of life.

This piece began as a commission that ultimately didn’t come to fruition. I chose to complete it nonetheless, and it evolved into one of my most powerful works. The artwork became an exploration of the energy and totemic symbolism of the rooster, as well as the delicate line we walk in our obedience to God. 'Observance' is defined as 'the practice of observing law, moral, or ritual', and this piece reflects the strength, discipline, and diligence required to live in spiritual obedience.
