Artworks are first available for purchase by sponsors and dignitaries before being available in person at the Exhibition in Brisbane. Unsold artworks can also be purchased online following the event.
"I created this work as the second and more experimental composition to accompany my first work 'Midday (1)'. Using the methods implemented from the first work, I let loose on the second, making the viewpoint more dynamic, and the play of light and shadow on the bottlebrushes more contrasting."
Rebecca Kilpatrick is a Sydney-born, Brisbane-based artist and museum worker with an interdisciplinary background in painting, printmaking and drawing. Much of Rebecca's art focuses on the unique and unparalleled beauty of the Australian landscape, in its fauna and quality of light.
Traditionally trained at the National Art School (NSW), Rebecca's most recent works experiment with mixed media materials like sand and more experimental applications like oil pastel and gesso to draw on paintings. Her most recent works have been shown in group shows from Mackay through Sydney to Melbourne.
