Looking In
Lyn describes herself as a 'serial creative', following her curiosity to create unique pieces across a variety of mediums. Her journey has included many challenges - burnout after a career in the caring profession, facing serious health obstacles that brought periods of intense inner struggle and deep introspection, and caring for both parents in their final journeys.
For Lyn, creating is a way to reach out and connect with others, giving form to the multitude of feelings and thoughts she carries. She often works with found or second-hand materials, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and her belief in the importance of caring for one another and our planet.

I created this piece using mostly found and collected materials. The two featured slabs were chosen to highlight the natural beauty, colours, and textures of stone, while also contributing to a palette that conveys calm and thoughtfulness. I personalised the work by incorporating broken jewellery faces - symbolising two aspects of the self, turned inward in reflection.
