Language of Light

Shorncliffe-based artist Signs from the Stars was born in Redcliffe, Brisbane. After extensive travel, she returned to Brisbane to study Fine Arts at QUT. Signs from the Stars loves working with acrylics and colour, building her paintings layer by layer - each one a slow germination fused with the last.

Her artistic journey began as part of her recovery from severe childhood trauma. Living with complex PTSD and ADHD, Signs from the Stars also works alongside others who experience complex mental health challenges. For her, creativity is both a way of understanding herself and a language beyond words. She gravitates toward simple designs, bold colours, shapes, symbols, and playful, childlike characters - echoes of her inner child.

'Language of Light' captures the symbols that come through in my dreams and during meditation. The world is made up of energy, and what we feel is often unseen by the naked eye or irrational to the mind - but that doesn’t mean a deeper world doesn’t exist in other realms. This art speaks in symbols and a language the soul understands.
