Drawing for Walt Disney has shaped Running Duck Studio's skills and style. In 2012, the artists partner was involved in a motorbike accident, causing neck, spine and brain damage. Being an integral part of their ongoing support and recovery, the artist has seen both sides of hidden struggles and pain. The lack of visible injuries often causes unsympathetic reactions.
With their own journey demonstrated throughout drawings, subconsciously expressing their own struggle, Running Duck Studio's artwork has become more light-hearted and uplifting, illustrating the small but special moments that can be found in everybody's lives. This has been an almost involuntary decision to bring balance once again to life. For that light-hearted place in your soul when you need it.

This owl represents the calming of the beast within. The angelic demure of an owl verses its hunting skills. It’s about finding the peace in the everyday struggle.
Emotions can be powerful and moving and equally destructive, but it’s the control that defines who we are or who we will become.
New to my usual black and white artworks, I have introduced a light wash to add softness and calmness to the subject as it stands poised in contemplation.
