Finding My Voice
What began as a hobby has become a place of serenity and healing for Jess. Growing up in South Africa and now living in Brisbane, she has long turned to creativity as a way of managing anxiety and other mental health challenges. Over time, this practice has blossomed into a true passion.
Jess works across acrylic painting, carving, sculpting, and crocheting, finding that each medium helps her remain grounded, present, and connected. When the world feels overwhelming, creating offers her space, freedom, and calm. Jess's art brings her joy, peace, and a sense of accomplishment, and her greatest goal is to share that joy—bringing a smile to those who experience her work.

Starting out as an artist, I’ve often felt the pressure to 'find my style' or fit into a specific artistic category. Yet for me, my style is simply creating pieces that I feel drawn to - whether it’s a passing interest or a big goal. With this piece, I felt my brushes flow naturally, bringing all my joys into one. In that moment, I felt like I found my voice.
