"This artwork is part of a series of photographs created in the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the state I was in at that time. I later discovered the word - confinement - which had already been part of my life.

'Broken and Forgotten' is a sample of the personal wounds I kept hidden for many years. My story of confinement, a broken childhood, loneliness and being a woman is something I can only show through images - my own personal language."

Ayre is a Peruvian artist living in Brisbane. She has been working in the creative industries for more than five years as a graphic designer and photographer. Before that time, she experienced a lot of stress, anxiety and depression while in the process of changing her career. Everything became clearer when she gave herself over completely to her instincts.

Ayre's work can be described as colourful, with a focus on movement. She loves to connect with those she portrays in her art. Ayre is focused on continuing to create through experimentation, mixing her artistic passions without setting limits; flowing like air.
