By Traci Marlin

Traci is driven by the desire to capture life's expression in her art forms. Her creativity is sparked by feelings of inspiration from nature, her surroundings, people, and Godly inclinations.

During a period of prolonged illness as a child, Traci found comfort in drawing and colour. High school was her first encounter in art studies, learning elements of portraiture and fine arts. Some 20 years later, Traci reconnected with her almost-forgotten desire to draw after attending a community course by Betty Edwards titled, 'Drawing on the right side of the brain'.

Traci's art practice gives her a sense of worth, accomplishment, and great healing from life's hardships. She finds it truly gratifying when others appreciate and connect her work.

Each face of the flower carries its own expression and phase - some lean eagerly toward the light, while others bow their heads after a long day of holding themselves upright. They are bright and joyful, each one shining with its own unique beauty. Inspired by Van Gogh’s sunflower paintings, I’ve always wanted to capture their character - the subtle expressions found in the movement of each petal, the tilt of the leaves, and the striking contrast between green and gold.
