By Justine Prince

Justine is a British-born fine artist and photographer, now based in sunny Brisbane.

As a nurse, Justine has witnessed countless mental health journeys. She also has her own personal story. Justine loves helping others find healing through art and nature, and acknowledges the stirring power of purposeful colours, intelligent designs, and intricate details in re-kindling hope from darkness and indifference.

Her vibrant, deeply observant works celebrate borrowed moments of beauty, emotion, wonder, charm, vulnerability, connection, chaos, and calm – all expressed and pondered through her uniquely kaleidoscopic palette.

Through her work, Justine hopes to inspire renewed curiosity, conservation, care, and appreciation for the phenomenal designs surrounding us in nature -  and the open-mouthed awe they can instil in the quiet, grateful observer who cares to look.

My artwork examines the shiny suits of armour we so carefully weave together each day for camouflage, protection, distraction, appeal, and acceptance. Are these shiny shells a reflection of us, or of those looking our way?

Who would we set free if we only dared cut through the self-imposed smoke and mirrors – tearing off the foil candy-wrappers of conformity and isolation and unearthing raw strength, authenticity, resilience, complexity and colour?
