Little Raccoon, Big Smile

Kerry Beazleigh’s artistic practice began whilst encouraging her young son to pursue his artistic talents. She was surprised to discover the healing power of art in her own life. 

Kerry feels like painting transports her to another world; anxiety still exists but now there is something more powerful that can override it. Art breaks the hold anxiety has over her; it’s like nothing else exists except each brushstroke. 

Kerry's favourite medium to work with is oil paints. She loves their smooth buttery consistency, which allows her to explore many different techniques. To Kerry, art is an ever-growing lifelong learning process, and she looks forward to seeing where this journey takes her in the future.

I couldn't resist painting this little raccoon as he has such a joyful, playful energy - it is impossible not to smile when you look at him. His expression is bright, cheeky, and full of life.  I hope this painting brings joy to whoever looks at it.
