Birds of a Feather
Brisbane/Meanjin-based artist Carol is a free-flowing, emotive and intuitive painter with a dynamic sense of colour. She expresses herself through the texture and application of paint, while drawing inspiration from her sense of connection with self, others, and the environment.
Carol likes brainstorming ideas with others, finding she is more productive when creating within a community of practice. She participates in creative portraiture classes within the University of the Third Age.
Carol believes it’s easier to find ‘creative flow’ when listening to music, birds, or rustling trees in the outdoors. She particularly enjoys painting and drawing in New Farm Park.
Through 'Birds of a Feather', I aim to inspire awareness of the power and beauty of inclusion. Each bird, with its own colours and story, represents the beauty of individuality. Together, they will rise - lifting one another through connection, kindness, and shared strength. This work is a reminder that we’re never truly alone, and that there is joy and power in coming together just as we are.
